Utas Uts-15 Capacity
The UTS-15 feeds from two fixed magazine tubes that sit over the barrel and unlike the Kel-Tec KSG, the UTS-15 can automatically alternate between the two. Rounds are loaded into the magazine tubes through the loading doors located to the left and right of the rear end of the optics rail. When using 2.75” shells, the UTS has a 7+7+1 capacity, and a 6+6+1 capacity with 3” shells.
Utas Uts-15 Feature
The Utaş UTS-15 is a bullpup pump-action 12 gauge shotgun with an 18.5 inch barrel topped with a full-length optics rail. This dual-magazine fed shotgun has a unique rear receiver cover that automatically pops open when the gun jams. Due to its heavy use of polymer in the design, the UTS is available in black, OD green and desert tan colors.
Utas Uts-15 Ergonomics
The UTS-15 uses AR15 pattern pistol grips allowing the user to install whichever grip they prefer, and the safety is placed over the grip in AR15 fashion. The pump handle has an added contour to help prevent users getting their hands deleted, and the dust cover on the back of the gun pops up pretty far but with a gentle force when it jams. Loading the magazines is a bit tricky as well.
Utas Uts-15 Mobility
Measuring 28.3 inches long with an unloaded weight of 6.9 pounds, the UTS-15 provides one of the shortest and lightest extended-capacity shotguns on the market. Since the gun is both notably tall and excessively wide at almost 3 inches from side to side, the relatively poor handling qualities can potentially detract from its overall mobility.
Utas Uts-15 Fit-N-Finish
The UTS-15 uses a lot of polymer in its design to reduce the overall weight, but that isn’t the cause of its reported reliability issues. Early models had improper timing between case ejection and cycling a new shell out of one of the magazine tubes. This was remedied in its R&D phase by making a dust cover that could open up the action and it was later addressed through a re-design which showed some improvement.
