See DealThe ArmaLite, Inc is pleased to present the AR-10A. This model gives ArmaLite customers more choices. The AR-10A family of ArmaLite firearms is functionally identical to the AR-10B family. Operation, controls and maintenance are also the same. However, the AR-10A family is designed to accept early ArmaLite AR-10 "waffle" magazines and good quality magazines copied from them, instead of ArmaLite's proprietary stell magazines that are used in the AR-10B family. Armalite has tested, recommends and ships polymer Magpul PMAG 20LR magazines with

Armalite Ar-10 Capacity
The Armalite AR10 is chambered in 7.62x51mmNATO (or .308 Winchester if you live in a country that measures in 1/12ths) and feeds from AR10 pattern detachable box magazines. Who could have guessed, right? 5 and 10 round magazines are available for hunting and for people in states with magazine restrictions, but the standard capacity is 20 rounds.
Armalite Ar-10 Feature
The modern Armalite AR10 is a semi-automatic gas operated rifle with an internal-piston action, as was the original. Due to the proliferation of the AR10 over the last few decades, aftermarket support has provided just about as much modularity to the AR10 as the AR15 platform when comparing support to numbers produced. An AR10 can be built with barrels from 16 to 24 inches in rifle setups.
Armalite Ar-10 Ergonomics
The AR10 is the inspiration of the AR15, and due to that it has identical controls to a standard AR15. The biggest difference is the weight, though more minor differences include a /125” difference in height between the pistol grip and stock comb, and the longer receivers place the forend about 2 inches further forward. Aside from that, it’s simply a bigger AR.
Armalite Ar-10 Mobility
Often measuring 38 to 46 inches with unloaded weights between 9 and 14 pounds, the AR10 offers better mobility than any other semi-automatic cold-war era autoloading rifle that was put into mass production. This is especially true when factor in the controls and put an adjustable stock on it. It can be used for everything from long-range competition shooting to hunting to anything else a .308 can be used for.
Armalite Ar-10 Fit-N-Finish
The AR10 uses a C158 bolt, an 8620 steel bolt carrier, a lot of fiberglass, and 7075-T6 aircraft grade aluminum receivers. The original barrels were a hybrid design that had a steel rifled bore insert inside of an aluminum barrel sleeve. In preliminary testing, it functioned but it ruptured at Aberdeen and the AR10 was then dropped from the M14 competition because Eugene Stoner and George Sullivan didn’t bring a full-steel barrel to replace it.
